My Darling Boy,

It’s been far too long since we have sat down and had a proper conversation, and I’m missing you like you wouldn’t believe! This is my most important year of high school, so I must say it is rather intense, I have so much work to do that I can barely find time to do much else! Despite this, I knew that I had to do something for you on your Birthday - the one day of the year when I’m allowed to shower you with compliments and you can’t do a single thing about it. So until I get the time to send you a proper Birthday gift, I hope you can settle for this silly little text post…

I remember this day last year, I think it was only a few days after we began talking, which must mean we have been friends for a year now…it’s a little odd to think, seeing as this time a couple of years ago I was too frightened to even speak to you! We had our ups and downs, as everybody does, but I can honestly say that it was the best year of my life. I smiled every morning when I checked my messages, and you truly made me the happiest person on the planet. I have to say that I miss it, with all of my time being taken up by school, I tend to forget how happy speaking to you makes me. So I feel like today is just as good as any other day to tell you - thank you. I don’t think you could quite understand how grateful I am, and how very lucky I am to have you as a friend. You really do mean more to me than anything else, and I feel like I don’t tell you nearly enough.

So thank you my darling, for always being here when I need you, for always making me smile, and for everything else you have ever done for me. I hope you have a wonderful Birthday, and smile extra big for me!
